After attending a concert with my parents back in September of 2024, I was inspired to make a “poster” like image after I had taken this picture of the lead guitarist during one of his solos.
I used Illustrator and Lightroom to not only change the overall tone and hue of the image, but also add shapes, text, and other design elements that I thought resembled a band poster (or an idea of one).
I would like to continue creating more concert like posters utilizing images I have taken for keepsakes and designs I can use to decorate places with!
Concert Poster
When applying to be in the School of Media Art’s and Design here at JMU, I realized I needed to include some designs I had created in the past in a “portfolio” style for my application.
I decided to create a small series of “magazine” covers to demonstrate my abilities in different photoshop programs along with my creative side.
Here are two of the magazine covers I created for my SMAD application portfolio.
I hope to continue to create similar pieces in the future with the new skills I have learned through my Creative Advertising introduction classes here at JMU!
